Movement of Breath Workshop

Exploring the connection between our bodies and the natural world through movement, breath and music.

This 2hr workshop offers a journey from the stillness and flow of yoga to the rooted free movement of a movement medicine class.

In the first half you will be guided with yoga and breath practices, to open the senses and receive our natural vibrancy and the interconnected aliveness of our breath.  As we transition into dance in the second half, we will continue to explore our relationship with breath and movement, allowing ourselves to rest in the rhythm and be moved by the natural medicine of movement and music.

The aim of this workshop is that we will be supported to acknowledge our condition and give it space to move. Leaning into comfort and ease, allowing movement to restore our hearts natural illumination, and circulate some breath.  I am excited to connect yoga and movement medicine and share this deeply rooted physical and soulful dance practice.

Meet the Teacher:

Kate is a zen shiatsu practitioner, yoga teacher, and movement medicine apprentice teacher. She finds potential in each of these practices to open dialogue and support the expression of our nature—increasing our capacity for breath, depth and movement in life.  Her approach to teaching is tender, sensitive and celebratory, rooted in the spirit of community and the creativity that flows through human connection.  She teaches bi-monthly open MM classes at Rose Hill Community Centre and offers Zen Shiatsu in East Oxford and Sandford-on-Thames.
