Join Emily for a nourishing 2-hour journey into the transformative power of sound. This immersive workshop invites you to reconnect with your voice and body through gentle vocal practices, sacred chants, and uplifting song; all designed to support emotional release, rest, and inner connection.
We’ll begin by awakening the voice with simple vowel tones and Bija (seed) mantras, followed by the calming repetition of longer Vedic chants, supported by the drone of the Shruti box. These ancient practices are known to soothe the nervous system and bring clarity to the mind.
You’ll then be guided in learning soulful songs from various cultures, including traditional melodies from the British Isles. These songs will be accompanied by the rhythmic pulse of the frame drum. Light, optional movement will be offered to help you embody the rhythm and feel the joy of singing in community.
We’ll close with a grounding sound meditation to integrate your experience and leave you feeling deeply restored.
